I'm thinking of starting a 55 monk, but I'm not sure of the best place to start him from. Which campaign would be the best to get a 55 monk up to speed the fastest? My friend says the Factions would be good because of the high experience for early quests.

What do you experienced monkers think?

Factions or Nightfall, if you wanna go doa you'd choose nf. However factions is faster and you dont have to play so much to cap sb.

the best place to start off, in my opinion, is Prophecies, although it does require either cash or some good guild/allience members. It's the most open of all the campaigns (you can be run). Pre-sear you do a couple of quests, get a secondary prof, then sear, this can be done while you're still level 1. With factions and nightfall you actually have to go and do a bunch of quests and missions before you get to the mainland. If your goal is DoA, why run around Istan for hours and hours, when you can sit back and pay someone to run/powerlevel you?

Once you've seared:
-Get run to beacons.
-Get run to Droks.
-Get powerleveled.
-Get run to LA.
-Buy a few elite tomes.
-Get over to Kaineng and Kamadan.

these steps do require some investment. I don't know how much a run to these places cost. The Tomes will set you back 10-15k each, but if you want to take the time I suppose you could just cap them yourself. Spell Barrier is available just outside Camp Rankor, which you'll pass through on the way to Droks.

From there just do whatever needs to be done to get to the farming locations. It might not be a bad idea to pick up a few useful elites Word of Healing comes to mind, if you want to pug your way through the story lines.

Don't post this here unless you are interested in becoming a Monk this means healing and protecting others if you don't understand that you won't make it as 55.It is aways best to learn how to play the role first then farm later.It is very easy for Monks to get in to groups.
